Haymarket VA Short Sale Realtor – Luxury Short Sale SOLD by Jennifer Young Homes! This incredible house in Haymarket had some serious damage when we were first asked by the seller to short sale the property for them. The sellers owed $1 million to their lender, Chase Mortgage, but there was no way to sell for that much when the following items needed repair: wood rot and peeling paint throughout, major water damage in main level master ceiling from upper level bathroom, major water damage and black mold in  upper level ceiling from bad roof (roof was replaced 7 years ago but before that major leaks), multiple spots on upper level and water damage around skylights on upper level, dishwasher, top part of wall oven, ac , intercom, and one garage door opener did not work…list went on. Even with these items, the Jennifer Young Homes Team was able to find a buyer in less than a month and we secured lender approval…and SOLD today for $615,000.

What does it mean if you are a buyer and you purchase a home As-Is?
“As is” clauses in sale contracts mean that sellers (lender in the above case) aren’t making guarantees as to a property’s condition, and aren’t going to make any repairs. Buying “as is” means that you are agreeing to shoulder the costs for any obvious defects, from ripped screens to stained carpeting, after closing.
