It’s always great to tell the success stories that almost never happened. Our team secured a contract this year to list and sell distressed HUD homes through a company called HomeTelos. Many times, we see investors grabbing up the good deals, but not this time. HUD, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae prefer to sell to private owners who plan to live in the home. This is one of those stories…
As many of you know, the HUD buying process can be daunting if an agent has never handled it before, but many are learning quickly. In the case of this condo we listed for $55K in Silver Spring, MD in March 2011, we were approached by buyers who wanted to write a contract but they did not speak English very well. So, they asked their friend (LN we’ll call him) to email us and he translated for them and us. My partner, Ingrid Vargas, took them on as buyers with LN’s help and we closed on the condo in LESS than a Month! They were so pleased and just days ago, we heard they held a house warming party and invited LN. He told us the buyers renovated and are thrilled with their new home and the service they received from our team. A photo of all of them together is attached above and LN’s note to us was this: “Dear Jennifer, Ingrid and Jessica,…Last Thursday (8/25/11), Khue and Loc,  the proud new owners of Condo at 614 Sligo Avenue, invited me and my wife over for a housewarming party. The place has been changed beyond recognition and for the (much much) better. Everything is brand new, from top to bottom, from kitchen to bathroom. It is now immensely livable and beautiful.
Khue and Loc ask me to convey their thanks to you for your help in making their dream into a reality (assisted also by an army of handymen and professional repair/renovate folks!)”

They said we could share their story with you – we just enjoyed seeing their smiles. Congrats to Khue and Loc!
If you’d like to know more about buying HUD homes, even if they’re not our listings, email me at jennifer@jyhteam.com or call (703) 651-5655. I’m happy to help. Have a great holiday weekend.
