This is a crazy time of year; we’re getting to the end of 2017. Jennifer I want to start with you, what is this time of year like in the real estate world?
It’s actually really good. A lot of people think it slows down this time of year but it’s one of the best times to sell or buy a home. And the reason is most sellers list their home in the spring and that’s when everybody lists their home because it’s prettier out. What happens when everybody lists their home, inventory increases and sellers have more competition. So we’re telling all of our sellers to list their home now while there’s less competition. There are good buyers out there who are motivated and qualified and are saying “Where all the good homes?”
So if you list your home now, price it correctly and market it correctly, we’re having great offers within the first 30 days. So it’s great for the sellers. Buyers can get good deals. There’s either properties on the market now that haven’t sold all year so the sellers are really motivated or new listings that are priced well and they’re gonna beat the competition in the spring. So they’re able to capture a great home before the end of the year and get some good tax benefits too!
Yeah my husband bought the home that we live in and closed on December 31st and got a great deal because and it was a new build in a new community and is one of the first ones and they just wanted it off the books.
