Short Sale Realtor Northern Virginia – Ocwen Short Sale SOLD by Jennifer Young Homes in Manassas!
Another Ocwen Short Sale SOLD with the sellers receiving $3,000 HAFA relocation assistance at closing! The owners of this home on Hikmat Road in Montyville Estates in Manassas, VA owed more than they could sell for in today’s market. They bought the home in 2004 for over $477,000, but we just sold it for $325,000. The homeowner was able to work with us to short sale their home and walk away from paying the remaining balance of their mortgage. We also negotiated a deficiency waiver for them, which the banks presented in writing. This means the lenders won’t come after the sellers for the amount written off. The only thing we’re waiting on is knowing whether the sellers will have to pay taxes on the amount written off. The Tax Debt Relief Act has yet to be extended for 2014.
Some people ask us “how can you quickly figure out if your home might need to sell for less than what you bought it for in the height of the market?” The first thing to loo at is the public tax record. In the case of this home, you can see the assessment declining each year. Here is the tax record on this home so you can see what I mean: Hikmat Tax Record
