1. Lulu’s Winegarden

Created by local husband-and-wife team Paul and Brittany Carlson, Lulu’s Wine Garden is a communal winegarden with two lush garden patios, reimagined dinner party fare, and a fun & affordable under-$50 wine list.

2. Sospeso

In 2017, another husband-and-wife team Michael and Hatice C. Rosato created Sospeso, inspired by the recipes of their grandparents and the sun-drenched countries along the Mediterranean Sea.

Prepared with fresh, local ingredients by Executive Chef, Tugce Salihoglu-Curtis, the Mediterranean influenced dishes are perfect to gather around with friends.

3. Dolcezza Gelato

1704 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20009

 

Dreamt up by husband-and-wife team Robb and Violeta during their first hot and humid visit to Buenos Aires, Brazil in 2000 & inspired by the popular gelato shop, Freddo, Dolcezza was born.

Regarded as some of the best gelato in DC, including Saveur, Bon Appetit, Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, Dolcezza is hard to beat.

4. Primrose

A Parisian-inspired wine bar, Primrose is a DC classic, created by husband-and-wife team Sebastian Zutant and Lauren Winter, born from years of dedication to good food, drink, and hospitality.

5. Purple Patch

Inspired by her mother’s Filipino roots and her own love for cooking, Patrice Cleary set out to create Purple Patch in 2015, dedicating most of the menu to her mother’s recipes and Filipino cuisine.
